When texting, watch out for the auto-correct feature on your phone. There is even an entire website devoted to the demons that take over our phones, and amuse our friends.

Strange Merit Badge
Our grandson’s scoutmaster must have fainted when he saw what he’d texted to his troop’s parents: "Scouts 7:00 Sharp at the Church. We will finish up Aviation, Cycling, and Gynecology Merit Badges."

That was followed by this message three minutes later: "Change of Plans. We will not be finishing up the Gynecology Merit Badge. Instead, it will be the Genealogy Merit Badge."

I have been a victim of my phones auto correction feature many times. In a way it is a good thing because it has added humor to a few texting fights that I was engaged in. Hard not to laugh when someone asks you what the heck you meant by "go duck yourself".

I'm sure my old cell doesn't have such a feature, or predicitve texting is the same thing.which is a pain in the you know where! It take forever to type a simple message. It puts what it thinks your texting, and 99% of the time its wrong. If I type the word, what it puts whatever. Then I have to back space, the ever part. And on and on. So in a way this old cell has a mind of its own too.

I haven't texted in years but I had always deactivated this feature.
At the moment I try to figure out how to deactivate it in Outlook at work. I just can't find it in the options. And it is always correcting the same CORRECT words... grrrrr....

I don't use such programs. For me it's webmail, or nothing!

For personal use, definitely!
But I do not have this choice for work. We just changed from Lotus Notes to Outlook and it sucks!

I text very little, Leah. In fact, I haven't texted since my granddaughter showed me how! Text just crawled away, wow!

I don't (won't) text. I hate telephones, period, and texting is the dumbest invention ever.

I always complain that you type something and it changes the spelling of a certain word

I'm not big on texting and a lot of times I will call the people that texted me. Thanks for this info as it is something to remember.

The United States Government set up satelites for this very reason, you thought you had privacy . . . you don't . . . at any given time and moment you just never can tell whose listening in on whom . . . think about the recent GMAIL passwords stolen by CHINA this included massive GMAIL accounts, civilian sector and government sector when they GMAIL ran a tracer on who did it it was the Chinese government compound that not only hacked into private passwords but read the emails send to accounts this includes United States government and civilian sectors just think about it . . . great post Leah . . .
