Jeff Conaway, Taxi and Grease star, died on Friday at the age of 60. He appeared in what was believed to have been his last interview at Anaheim Wizard World Comic Con back on April 29.
According to a report from RadarOnline, Conaway shared some news during that interview that even had the actor speculating about an Oscar win.
It seems Jeff Conaway was getting ready to make a film called Orson's Last Dance, and it was through that film he believed an Academy Award was in his future. How sad that just a few weeks later, Conaway is dead.
It appears like many changes took place in Jeff Conaway's life between his last interview on April 29 and his death on May 27. At the time of the interview, he introduced Vicki Lizzi as his girlfriend and remarked about the love the couple shared. Just a few days later, both Conaway and Lizzi were requesting restraining orders against each other. By May 11, Conaway was found unconscious and was taken to the hospital where he subsequently died more than two weeks later.
Doesn't it make you wonder how things can go so terribly wrong for a person? Did his addiction to cocaine, pills, and other substances play a role in the demise of his relationship? So many unanswered questions remain in the wake of someone's passing.
The last interview with Conaway was conducted by Scott Stewart, host and producer of What's Up Orange County. Stewart explains that Conaway's behavior during the interview and his behavior off-screen differed only in how he was feeling physically.
"He told me he'd just had surgery and was in a lot of pain," Stewart says.
It seems there were many loose ends left in the passing of Jeff Conaway. Will his fans ever know how he spent the last weeks he was alive? Most likely, the timeline will get put together piece by piece, and people fill one another in on the weeks leading up to May 11. Conaway never regained consciousness once entering the hospital. All his fellow actors, loved ones, and friends can hope for now is that he is resting in peace.
