Justin Bieber and Chris Brown are so friendly, they've almost seem like BFFs. Not only did Brown join the teen dream onstage in Sydney during the Australian leg of his sold out My World Tour, the two recently teamed up to duet the hit, Next To You. But theirs is more than just a work relationship. Recently, the 17-year-old Never Say Never star, his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, 18, and her girlfriend, Demi Lovato who is also 18, were spotted out on a "group date" with none other than Chris Brown. That's getting a little bizarre. In fact, it's borderline creepy.
It's rather odd, to say the least, for a 22-year-old man like Chris Brown to want to spend so much time socializing with a bunch of teenagers--even if one of them is the pop superstar of the century. Wouldn't Brown have more in common with people his own age? More importantly, even if he were 17 to 18, Chris Brown is hardly the kind of friend that a star with Justin Bieber's carefully constructed "squeaky clean" image should have. Brown is a violent felon who "savagely beat his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009." He accepted a rather mild punishment for that crime, and attempted to make amends and change his ways by completing anger management classes. Obviously, their effects, if any, were temporary. On March 22, Brown shocked even his staunchest defenders with his violent outburst on the set of Good Morning America.
Perhaps Justin Bieber's handlers, or even his mother Pattie Mallette, will eventually step in and apprise Justin Bieber of the very real harm that his personal friendship with someone like Chris Brown could do to his career in the long run. It would be a shame if he had to learn that lesson the hard way.
