I planted my new herb garden in my office window

For Mother's Day I got some plants and flowers. Rumor has it that it's superstitions = bad to have flowers/plants on a boat ... so they are in the window of my office at the marina that overlooks our boat (in her new home).

This planter has basil, mint and oregano

Out our new office window is the "F" dock and we are now at the end tie

Here is another look at the planter and the boardwalk below our office (we are on the 2nd story)

This was my mother's day basket with lavender and ivy (the lavender is just beginning to bloom)

Here's our dock again

And our boat way out at the end (I do still miss being under the bridge = much more activity & noisier here)

And here is my Rosemary plants and one onion/chive :) Yummy

Can't wait to make my homemade tomato sauces :) MMMmmmmmmmm!

I bought my husband a silly book about boats when we moved aboard so he pops up with these silly superstitions all the time :)

ooo you live on a boat...how cool is that. I saw a show a few yrs ago with some people that live on a boat and plant a garden around them on a floating dock....it's really very cool but they live out in the tundra sorta with of course water and lakes and rivers and what not.

I hadn't heard of it either Bernard??? but my husband shared it with me ... and as I looked around the marina there are planter boxes on the docks beside boats, but none aboard the vessels :o)

Its actually in the window of our office up on land at the marina - the basil has already doubled in size and the lavender is well on it's way many purple buds now peaking out :)

My husband has been busily working on the inside of the boat so it's coming right along ... I'll have to post some pictures soon. The sun has actually returned to the Pacific Northwest and it's been 60's YEAH! So we are going to begin working on the teak deck so we hope to actually be all sealed up and seaworthy and take some mini trips around the sound! I'd sure hate for water to splash into my bed :(
