I read in a Fellow Gather-er's Post that Texas was being denied the ability to declare a disaster to help with these raging fires by the President. I could not discuss it, really, because I had no idea of the criteria for declaring disasters. Now, I'm reading that the Texas battle with fires does not meet the criteria to be declared a disaster area AND the state is receiving what it is eligible for -- while CUTTING it's own people. What's really going on? http://www.star-telegram.com/2011/05/10/3065605/untruths-about-federal-fire-aid.html#ixzz1MXObVXqN

Or, is Texas accustomed to receiving aid for that which they do NOT qualify...the good ole boys are not in charge of that "Welfare stream" these days.
as he said while finishing off the FY2011 Budget he should not have to
be supervising them
and I'd say he should not have to be supervising FEMA either.
There are oversight committees for this kind of stuff.
