Today i went down to Ferndale MI to take my Journeyman Exam. The last hurdle in my 4 year apprenticeship.
I wasnt feeling all too great today and had trouble sleeping last night for the most part...so lets just say i wasnt all that confident. The first hour of the exam i was terrified...i couldnt remember a lot of the answers because they were from classes i took literally 3 years ago! but i kept going. after a break i came back with renewed confidence and burned through the remainder of the 200 question exam.
I spent a good while going back and checking answers. i found a few that i didnt the first time around, which was nice...but i also second guessed myself on a lot of answers. which in the end cost me some points.
The test was everything from how to figure the math for stairs, how to build form work, a lot of print reading, and a bunch of random carpentry type trivia. it seems the test was much more difficult on the first few pages than the last though, almost making you panic and then leaving you feeling better about yourself at the end lol.
The director of the school checks your paper right in front of you when you are done and i am happy to say that i got an 84.7% which if you ask me is good enough! so, Hooray!
After that i went down and hung out in the classroom i am in right now. just did my homework for the next class, which i completed and then the rest of the class work for the remainder of the quarter lol. so i will have plenty of free time in my last two class periods!
2 more days of school and im done. its hard to believe its all over...but im glad to see it end!
