Hi and good morning :-)
I have just started today's work and I am drinking a fine cup of coffee. I thought about good coffee and one thing came into my mind. Why so so many people buy coffee at Starbucks?
For me, it is totally ridiculous. Why?
Their coffee is quite expensive. In Germany you pay at least €3 (~$2) for one SMALL cup. If you want something special, then it gets even more expensive. You can buy a cup of coffee in smaller shops (kiosks) for €1 ($0.65) or less. Even at McDonalds, the coffee is not as expensive as at Starbucks.
So, what about you? Have you ever been to a Starbucks? How did you like it? Is the price for its coffee adequate in your country?
I have been to a Starbucks twice and I regret both visits. The triple chocolate cookies are good, but also expensive...

It's nice...
It's easy if you a driving somewhere and want to cruise in for a quick cup of awake-ness. But usually I make coffee at home and I like it better that way.
Thanks for posting to Short Story and More!
Many comedians and shows make fun of how many Starbucks are around as part of their routines as an example. I've seen scenes in that show South Park where one of the characters will be walking down the street, and every third building or so behind him is a Starbucks, LOL. Anyway, a corporate carnivore of the worst kind, LOL.
By the way, they are the largest coffee shop type company in the world now, and taken the above practices overseas big time; some with much controversy still. As a point of interest, the name Starbucks also supposedly comes from the name of the first mate(?) in the book Moby Dick. Kind of ironic, as Captain Ahab was will to do anything and step on anybody to get that white whale, ha!
