Justin Bieber's name seems to find its way into more internet hoaxes than any other celebrity in the world--except possibly his girlfriend, Selena Gomez. Apparently, there's a new untruth running rampant around the web started by a group of haters tweeting that the Never Say Never star hates the Philippines and vice versa.
"1 million Filipinos hate Justin Bieber after he did his concert there," claimed one.
"I recently learned that the Philippines now hate Justin Bieber," responded another. "LOL. why love him in the first place? There's nothing to love about this kid."
Some people didn't know what to make of the anti-Bieber campaign and remained neutral. At least for the time being.
"philippines hate Justin Bieber an issue anyway confirming it yet so for now don't care yet..."
Still others were simply depressed by the bizarre announcements.
"Why [does] Justin Bieber hate the Philippines?" asked yet another, adding: ":( "
It all started with a video titled Justin Bieber: How Arrogant Can You Be? It allegedly shows the teen dream knocking a CD out of an autograph seeker's hand at the airport and then "arrogantly" walking away without picking it up or apologizing. The video garnered almost 7,000 views in its first 24 hours.
According to Justin Bieber Zone, however, the incident was merely a misunderstanding blown out of proportion.
"Justin was in a hurry because he was late for a flight. The CD fell out of the man's hand; and Justin never hit it. Justin was supposed to pick it up; but, security told him to keep going, so that is what he did."
So, there you have it. Sort of. You can watch the video below and try to decide for yourself. But be warned. The tape's visuals are dark, murky, and shaky, and its audio is noisy and garbled. At about 0.07-0.08, a man on the left of the screen can be seen extending his hand toward the teen idol and the CD case can be heard loudly ricocheting off Justin's skateboard. The Biebs looks like he's about to stoop to retrieve it, but instead, he keeps walking, probably at his security's insistence. Oddly, he seems to have lost his skateboard or passed it to one of his crew, because he boards his flight without it. One of the bodyguards can be seen returning what looks like the fallen CD to the man before following Justin onto the plane.
Hopefully, this incident will somehow be resolved. It would be a shame if memories of Philippines leg of the My World Tour were to be sullied by a minor misunderstanding.
