Kim Kardasian knows her reality TV. Right now, she has some friendly advice for Bristol Palin, who is new to the gig: "Don't do anything to play up for the cameras, just be yourself," Kim told E! Online. Wait a minute. Is this Kim K talking? Oh, wait. Playing up to the camera is her real self. It's how she spends most of her time. Certainly, it's been her whole career.
Kim Kardashian, the Keeping up with the Kardashians and Kourtney and Kim take New York—or whatever city is on their immediate list—star has the experience to give reality show advice, all right, but is she the right model for Bristol Palin? Bristol, the teen mom and political daughter from the wilds of Alaska?
Bristol's new show, as yet unnamed, "will focus on her move from Arizona to LA, where she'll be roomies with her Dancing with the Stars pal Kyle Massey and his brother Chris." What!! Last everyone knew, Bristol Palin had bought herself a house near Phoenix (with DWTS money), had a radio show gig, and was planning to go to college. What happened to all that? Then she had much-publicized jaw surgery, necessary to correct some problems with her bone structure, reports said, and now she's a television star? Does this make sense? As much as any other reality show, fans might guess.
"The more authentic something is, the more people will really see that and tune in and love it," Kim Kardashian goes on. OK, that fits. Not really, but whatever works. The Bio Channel wants to give it a go. Odds are this won't last longer than any of Bristol's other recent career moves, but it was nice of Kim Kardashian to share that valuable advice. "Just be yourself," Bristol. Go for it!
