What's going and What is staying (Final Update)

*Final update: The CW canceled Hellcats, but has renewed One Tree Hill, Nikita, and the rest of the shows they currently have. CBS has canceled The Defenders, Criminal Minds: Susspect Behavior, #!#% My Dad Says (the one with William Shatner), and Mad Love. All other CBS shows were renewed including the on the bubble CSI: New York.

 

 It's almost to the end of the TV season and I read a little today about some shows that got canceled, and which ones were renewed for sure. In case you watch any, here they are:

Canceled: (ABC)Brothers and Sisters, V, Better With You, Detroit 1-8-7, Mr. Sunshine, No Ordinary Family, Off the Map (NBC) Outsourced, The Cape, Chase, The Event, Law and Order: Los Angeles, Perfect Couples (FOX) Breaking In, The Chicago Code, The Cleveland Show, Human Target, Lie to Me, Traffic Light

No official news on CW and CBS cancelation.

Renewed: (FOX) Raising Hope, American Dad, Fringe, Family Guy, Glee, House, Bob's Burgers, The Simpsons (NBC) Chuck -for its fifth and FINAL season-, Harry's Law, Parenthood, The Office, The Biggest Loser, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Law and Order: SVU (ABC) Cougar Town, The Middle, Modern Family, Body of Proof, Private Practice, Happy Endings, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Castle

Anyone going to miss any of the ones not returning? Not me. I didn't watch any of them. But I was a little disappointed to see Detroit 1-8-7 get canceled because I read how much shooting the show in Detroit had helped their economy. And heaven knows Detroit needed it. But I've never seen it myself.

I have been watching Brothers and Sisters for years. My whole family loves No Ordinary Family, and Outsources is one of the funniest shows out there such a shame.

finale season for Smallville on CW and Supernatural has been renewed on the CW.

As for the cancelled shows I was surprise to see Lie to me and Law and order LA. as for the others I don't know how some of them stay on the air.

Yes, I knew about Smallville and Supernatural, but since there was no word on Hellcats, Nikita, and One Tree Hill I didn't add the CW. Most important of course is that The Vampire Diaries will return!

I didn't think Mr. Sunshine would make it. It was too uneven. Too bad, as Mathew Perry and Alison Janney are such terrific actors.

And Matthew Perry just went back to rehab. I hate to see people stuggling with their lives and then lose their job. And while Alison Janney will surely rebound, I don't know about Matthew Perry.

I read about Matthew Perry going back to rehab. I'm sure it was depressing for his show to be canceled, but it just wasn't funny. I hope he finds something worthy of his talent.

I knew the new Law and Order was in a lot of trouble. V was dead last year should have been gone. I liked No Ordinary Family and it did well at first, but was just getting poor ratings.

I expect One Tree Hill to get a renewal, as the network has been renewing contracts to the key people on the show. Hellcats is dead in the water and should get the hook.

Yes, I figure One Tree Hill will get a renewal although heaven knows why. Supernatural and Vampire Diaries have been renewed, and that doesn't surprise me. But I wonder if they will renew Nikita. What do you think? I haven't seen the show, but I read that critics liked it.

I'm not sure and think its around the 50/50 mark. Its not one of the shows that I'll care one way or the other about renewal.

We used to watch a lot of prime time TV (recorded and watched on the weekends) but we haven't watched much of anything this season. We've just been too busy lately. Honestly I think we've watched less than 5 new episodes of anything this year, aside from what I watched with my sister while my husband was deployed. And those were shows I don't normally watch (Raising Hope, Outsourced).

Just about everything we used to watch was on CBS. I think CSI NY is the only one we watch that doesn't look good.

Yes, you're right. CSI: New York is barely hanging on.

I don't have a DVR, so if I want to watch something of a new episode, I usually have to go to hulu.com. Sometimes I just don't want to sit down and watch TV at the regularly scheduled time! lol

I love Raising Hope by the way.

We had watched and tried 3 episodes of Human Target. And I already knew at the pilot episdoe that I will not watch that crap much longer but hubby wanted to give it a try.
"Lie to me", I have only seen the ads but never watched it. The other shows I do not know as they have not yet started here. I hope they won't...

I know my dad sometimes watched Human Target. But he really started watching it in the second season, and he said the second season was so much better than the first.

I am happy to see that Raising Hope, and Modern Family are being renewed. I love those two shows and watch them on www.hulu.com.

Criminal Minds isn't getting canceled, just the sequel CM:Suspect Behavior. I always found it kind of odd to have a spinoff. Did you watch the spinoff too?

I don't have cable so what ever I watch is on DVD's or Hulu.com and then I watch them the day after.
