The prompt:
This week, I would love to read your poems centered on the place you call home. Put ‘FWE Home Sweet Home’ in your title and tag and post to Gather Writing Essentials.
The following is written about Nova Scotia:
Near the Sea
Now and then...
When the summer wind
sighs its humid breath
through the emerald trees,
you can hear the ocean
calling to your heart.
For the light scent of salt
rides wild in the breeze.
Close your eyes and see,
the strong waves rolling
wet over rock and sand,
leaving their touch behind;
offerings of seaweed and shell,
a mosaic along the scenic shore.
Now and then...
Your spirit sings to the sea
always on the far horizon
where ghosts and pirates roam.

I'd never seen the like...like going back in time... :)
I heard from a C. F. Stewart. Relative of yours?
it calls to me.
Quite lovely.
