Finding Friends

This is especially directed at those of you who have recently moved to a new locale and have yet to make some friends. A really easy step would be to simply go out for a walk on a semi daily basis ( daily is even better) and if you see a neighbor in their yard, say hello. That’s pretty much all it takes and it’s pretty easy… right?

I think that it was my uncle who mastered this technique and whenever we went for a walk, he seemed to know everyone!!

I go for a walk every day. No friends have come from it. However we are learning some of the neighborhood dogs by name. lol

It should be good advice but I have to admit, rarely do I ever see anyone these days when I go for a walk!! Sad really! Must have been an early seventies thing??

sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't as I mentioned in a different reply. Here's hoping that the summer temps will bring out more people!!

Neighbors keep moving in and out. never get to know any of them. I say hello to them. Not really a people person. Don't have a lot of friends around here.

I just moved to a new house a few months ago. I am not really a people person, so I only say hi or wave if the other person does first.

But I do take my dogs for a walk whenever the weather is nice :)

I usually stop and comment on their garden if I can. People seem to love the interest. It's just timing it right lol!

the weather doesn't help either and some people just have the knack. It came so easily for my uncle... me I have to really force myself and then wish someone else would start the conversation first so that I don't have to!! ;)
