Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive ~ Did You Get Your Bag?

The only thing Sassy found in her mailbox today was an empty bag.  But that is great news!

The National Association of Letter Carriers is holding their yearly Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 14, 2011.  The largest one-day food drive in the US has been an annual happening since 1993.  In 2010, a record 77.1 million pounds of food was collected and given to food pantries and shelters across the nation. 

They are asking for non-perishable food donations which letter carriers will pick up this Saturday.   Did you get your bag?

No bag, but I did get a postcard letting me know. I would hate to be one of the walking mailmen or women that has to carry those bags on their route. We are going to leave stuff hanging on our box too though, always do!

I think they might need regional or local sponsors to foot the cost of handing out bags.

They didn't give me a bag, but I got a postcard. Problem is that it's supposed to rain on Saturday, and my mailbox is one of those multiple-people boxes outside. Also, I don't have much to spare on hand...
