Are you watching Survivor: Redemption Island? I'm not a betting woman...but, if I were, my money (and all of it) would be on Boston Rob. The last episode of Survivor just put my thoughts in concrete.
This week marked the traditional rite of passage on Survivor: Redemption Island? Time for family visits! The survivors first get a one-way conversation with thier moms, spouses, siblings. (Why am I not surprised that Phillip (the secret agent guy) has a sister show up instead of a spouse?) And, for Boston Rob, his precious Amber was home pregnant at the time of filming.
This reward challenge also serves as the elimination challenge on Redemption Island, which is getting very crowded at this point. Steven ends up going to the jury. The winner of the challenge, David, was given an unusual proposition. If he gives up the chance to visit with his family, he'll go spend some time on Redemption Island and the others will get to meet their families. Or...he can allow everyone else in the game to spend time with their families. The guys on redemption island will be alone Believe it not, he takes the latter deal. Matt thinks he's crazy I do, too. David denies any ulterior motive, but I think his willingness to share will make others "owe" him. We've all seen Survivor (and especially Survivor Redemption Island) too many times to believe anything of the sort. When you're there, you are on your own!
I suppose only time will tell. The problem is that, while other Survivor: Redemption Island contestants may be grateful, few will repay that gift with loyalty.
Now, the immunity challenge is complicated, both mentally and physically. The players are putting together a 3D puzzle on steps. First, it's Andrea...then Boston Rob and Grant are neck-and-neck. Jeff points out that it's 110 degrees. Andrea and Boston Rob are really giving it all they have, but Boston Robb's age is showing. Now only two steps left...three players still in the action. Boston Rob should have it, but he is really tired. Then, here comes Grant racing to the top. Despite the last minute charge by grant, Boston Rob wins and then most of the tribe just collapses at the top of the steps.
Could Boston Rob be hurt? He asks for water and complains about cramping. He actually asks tribe mates to help him stand. Boston Rob is looking very week. Still, he refuses a medic and his back to his normal, scheming Survivor self by the time they're back at camp.
Andrea has been noted as the first target Rob would have in his own tribe for some time. After all, she is a fierce competitor and could threaten at challenges. Plus, she's someone you really don't want to have around when it's you and the jury. We get a little tease that Boston Rob may be second-guessing his choice after Phillip, secret-agent guy, gets a little annoying...and it can't be "a little" after 32 days. Anyway, the alliance holds true and Andrea gets blindsided and sent to Redemption Island, which is getting very crowded.
