The 2011 NBA Playoffs scores have been everything but predictable! Who would have thought that heading back to Dallas, the L.A. Lakers would be on the verge of being down three games to none!
In Game 1, the Lakers blew a huge lead in the second half, and Kobe Bryant's last second shot to win the game fell short as Dallas got their first win ever in the post season at Los Angeles.
In Game 2 Dirk Nowitzki scored 24 points, and Shawn Marion added 14 as the Mavericks rolled the Lakers 93-81 on Wednesday night, taking a 2-0 second round lead.
So the series is over? Not quite yet, but the L.A. Lakers will have a hard time pulling out of this hole. The Mavericks and their fans have waited for this opportunity for years. Always highly rated and ranked, but seeming to end up being the bridesmaid and not the bride, Dallas is ready to explode in Game 3.
The knock on the Dallas Mavericks is that they always have a great regular season, but fall short in the playoffs.
This year the Mavs have a different swagger about them, and the Lakers look tired and out of sync. Add to the fact that Ron Artest will be out of Game 3 after a flagrant foul call in Game 2, Dallas is poised to put a strangle hold on the defending champs.
