After that you’ll want to make make it a habit to limit each of your muscle building workouts to ½ hour to an hour maximum. This should be enough time to get in a nice and intense muscle mass stimulating workout. A lot of guys think that they need to be wasting a few hours each day in the gym, but it's just not the truth. You just need to learn how to focus on your workout and completely ignore all of the distractions at the gym, then you will be able to finish your workout quicker than you ever realized.
After that, you will want to make sure and train each of your body parts only one time each week. This will let your muscles fully recover by allowing for 7 full days of rest between workouts. If you do this not only will your muscles feel a lot better, but they should be able to respond better and get progressively stronger with a full week to recover. There is a time and place for body part specialization routines that require multiple body part focused workouts each week, but it's definitely not when your first starting out.
You will also want to make sure to train no more than a couple muscle groups per training session. If you're muscle building workouts are limited to an hour, it will be almost impossible for you to train more than a few body parts in each training session. Group your body parts together in a way that will allow you to lift with weights that are heavy. It's a really good idea to combine body parts that compliment each other, but do not need a huge amount of energy to support within the same workout. This will allow your to train with as heavy a weight as possible for each body part.
Here’s how I like to group body parts for maximum muscle growth. I would train my pecs and lats one day followed by my shoulders and traps on another day, my legs on a separate day and my arms the next.
