Pregnant with Twins!!!

I recently discovered that I am pregnant. I did not want to post anything or tell anyone until I had seen my OB-GYN and got the confirmation. To say that this was a bit of a shock is an understatement. I take my bc pills religiously and never miss one. As my OB was telling me though.... nothing except for abstinence is full proof! So here I am at 39 expecting again. I am considered "high risk" because of my age and because of the complications I had when I was pregnant with Lil Keith. On Friday I got up to get Keith off to work and I noticed that I had a bit of spotting. I did not want to panic and I figured that I would wait for the doctor's office to open at 8 and give them a call. Keith left for work at 4:30 and I just relaxed in front of the computer. Well by 6:30 I was having intermediate pains. I decided that perhaps we should go to the hospital instead of waiting for the doctor's office to open. I called Keith and he come home and off to the ER we went. I was checked in quickly, had my blood taken and they sent me off to x-ray. Well we got the shock of the month when we found out that I am pregnant with TWINS!!! Now Keith is just as happy as a lark. He is a twin and now he is having twins and could not be happier. As soon as they had me back in the ER room after having the ultrasound he went to call all of his family. After sitting there for several hours the blood work come back fine and the doctors decided that everything was fine with the babies but that I did have a UTI. The explanation of the spotting was that it was caused by the UTI. Since this experience I have learned that a majority of women experience spotting during the first trimester of the pregnancy. I did a thorough search online and was surprised at the information that I found. Needless to say the babies are fine and I am on anti-biotics for the UTI. Now if I can just get over the shock of TWINS I will be alright!
