However, wearing white as an adult bridesmaid in the U.K. isn't the same type of wedding faux pas as it is in the U.S. The word is that Pippa Middleton wore white for good luck. Bridesmaids and groomsmen in the U.K. traditionally dress similarly to the bride and groom to ward off evil spirits. Since that was the reasoning, Pippa's gown was lovely, and there are sure to be no evil spirits lurking.
Pippa's gorgeous dress for the royal wedding was made by the same designer as the royal wedding dress -- Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. It was event trimmed in the same lace with the same button detail as Kate's gown. The head bridesmaid showed off much more skin than her sister, but she was still beautiful, and she wasn't the one marrying a prince.
As she stepped out for tonight's royal wedding reception at Buckingham Palace, Pippa once again wowed the world in an emerald dress with a plunging neckline. There is even some concern that the head bridesmaid may show up her sister this evening, but Kate Middleton is the princess and she is sure to be the focus of the evening. While Kate is sure to set plenty of style trends throughout the world, the younger Pippa is well on her way to setting some trends in her own right.

Why should we in the UK worry about what might or might not be suitable in the eyes of foreigners?
Who cares they were married, they aren't for our country at least not yet, by the time Americans get done with it's own Country we won't be a America any more we will be part of the UK. Just give it time.
These people don't effect my life carry on.
