We are asked to write a poem in any form with "war" the theme. I dedicate this simple tritina to Kushal Poddar on his birthday.
We pound our plowshares into swords
And we wage war to garner peace
When will we learn a better way?
Our sons and daughters know the way
To fire their cannons, wield their swords
They know not still a way to peace
If war’s antithesis to peace
Then why do nations see the way
To peace as only by the sword?
To trade our swords for peace, show us the way.
