There are two very obvious reasons this one is definitely a fake:

1. In 1961, the Dept of Vital Stats would have listed his father's race as negro, not african, and his mother's race as white, not caucasian. Those terms were not changed to politically correct terms until many yrs later.

2. In 1961, this typeset was not invented. It wasn't until later, that this typeset was invented.

The ORIGINAL LONG FORM "Certicifate of Live Birth" (which Obama claims this is) would have had the typset of the day, not yrs later.

You are referring to the short form Birth Certificate which is what he tried to pass off first on his website awhile back.

You don't get duplicates of the original long Certificate of Live Birth, the best they can do is photocopy the original. And if it doesn't exist (because of fire, etc) then they have to issue a short "certificate of live birth" and inform you there is no original long form Certificate of Live Birth.

What you got is the short form BC. This is not that.

If the original document was in a bound volume (as reflected by the curvature of the left hand side of the certificate), how can the green patterned background of the document's safety paper be so seamless?

Why, if Obama was born on August 4, 1961, was the “Date Accepted by Local Reg.” four days later on August 8, 1961?

What is the significance of the smudges in the box containing the name of the reported attendant?

David A. Sinclair, the M.D. who purportedly signed the document, died nearly eight years ago at age 81. So he is conveniently unavailable to answer questions about Obama’s reported birth.

In the “This Birth” box there are two mysterious Xs above “Twin” and “Triplet.” Is there a sibling or two unaccounted for?

What is the significance of the mysterious numbers, seen vertically, on the document’s right side?

Finally, the “Signature of Local Registrar” in box 21 may be a desperate attempt at establishing the document’s Hawaiian authenticity. Note to forgers: It is spelled “Ukulele.”

There are other people here on Gather, who were born in Hawaii a couple yrs after this, and they confirm the things I mentioned.

August my birthdate is oct 17th but my record of birth wasnt given to the state until oct 24th...my parents couldnt decide on a name.

My mother, my self, my brother, my sister, my father, 2 of my 3 kids were all born in the same town at the same hospital and none of our BC look alike.

Right up until Kennedy's presidency, and the civil rights movement in the mid-sixties, there was not a change in the terms. It wasn't until the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which was signed into law in 1965, that the terms were changed.

The short form BC is not called the "Certificate of Live Birth." Only the Long form is called that. The short form is simply called a "Birth Certificate."

My BC is a Certificate of Live Birth and its the size of a post card.

On the typeset I dont see that it is different from anything else from that time period but I am not an expert. Do you have a link to this claim as well?

As for the rest this is a photocopy of the original that was copied on what I assume to be a copymachine that would be no different than in any office and it is out of a large book so it would be impossible to copy without some kind of a crease or line or something since you cant lay it completely flat.

The evidence is that he has a Long form BC from Hawaii from 1968, with which to compare to this supposed 1961 document. There should be little difference, but the answers to several of the questions above are exactly as one would expect on the authemtic 1968 form. Obama put his Certificate of Live Birth on the internet for the first time in 2008. Now he has produced a copy of his original BC..and mind you in 2001 Hawaii adopted a law stating that they would no longer give copies of the original BC to people and had to make an exception for Obama.

Now the governor has come out and said the BC is valid. The registar of the state has affirmed it as valid.

The ex governor as I mentioned a Repub and McCain supporter affirmed it as valid.

The simple fact that he has presented what is supposed to be a credible document, when he has forged or changed many other documents throughout his life, raises more questions than it answers.

I remember the GANGS (both female gangs and male gangs) they would form and follow kids around on the playground and down the sidewalks that they knew they could beat the hell out of just for the fun of it. Usually the quiet, good kids. (because that's what bullies look for, someone they can make into a victim)

That's when bullying REALLY took off in our schools in our area.

As usual, it was probably some loudmouth liberal northerners meddling in everyone's business, making everyone in the US conform to what they wanted.

Gosh, to think I went two whole days without seeing this. I needed the laugh. Having been alive in the '50s and '60s I can safely say that in the USA I lived in black people wanted to do away with segregation. I'm not saying that's true for every universe, but in the one I've inhabited all my life black people were very anxious to have the same educational opportunities as white people. In many parts of the country segregation denied black people those opportunities.

OTOH, it is true that many white people did not want black children in "their" schools.

Funny, the part of town the blacks inhabited in our area, (before desegregation) even though they were poor, were never "ghettos" with trash everywhere. They were clean and not that many were criminals either.

AFTER desegregation, it was like they quit caring, and the whole area went to crap.

I think it was rebellion. It certainly wasn't a sign of them "moving up in the world." And education wasn't any different on the other side of the tracks. The only thing different was the color of the teachers and the kids. All the kids still learned their math, reading and writing.

Obama has lost BIG TIME on this issue. It has become so pervasive that now anyone that doesnt follow politics closely (most voters) will associate him with : no birth cerificate, a fraudulent one, etc.

True or not, he has been branded by this much the same way the accusation of something like rape or child molestation taits the accused. To certian degree the truth doesnt matter - they are always tainted with that accusation.
