White House Releases Copy of Long Form of Obama's Birth Certificate From Hawaii

The White House has released the long form of President Barack Obama's birth certificate in response to festering questions about whether he was born in the United States.

The certificate, released Wednesday and posted on the White House website, says Obama was born in Hawaii, which makes him eligible to hold the office of president.

Obama said Wednesday he was bemused over conspiracy theories over his birthplace, and said the media's obsession with the "sideshow" issue was a distraction in a "serious time."

"We don't have time for this kind of silliness," Obama said, adding that he was puzzled that the controversy fanned by conservative pundits and some of his political foes had rumbled on for two-and-a-half years.

Obama spoke in an extraordinary political moment after the White House released the document, showing he was born in Hawaii in August 1961.

Obama previously had released a standard short form, but requested copies of his original birth certificate from Hawaii officials this week.

I saw an article right after I posted this that said exactly that :) Now they want him to produce all of his college transcripts.

They are looking for an excuse to hold to their beliefs. They just can't stand it that someone like Obama is President. It does not fit the world they want to live in. They are sad but dangerous.

Be nice if this would make the birther's go away. They'll cry this is fake or something. I think he intended to eventually pull it out. I believe he wanted to make fools of them, and knew if he waited then produced it, that would do it.

I agree with you. It shows them for the idiots they are.

They have already started crying fake because they can't see the raised seal. Donald Trump now wants the college transcripts.

They're not going to give up.

What do you expect from idiots? If he wasn't legit how did he ever even get a passport? Next thing you know thier going to ask for proof that he bleeds red, to see if hes not an alien or something. My guess, they know the hands of time are ticking, and want to disprove him, because they fear he may win the next election too.

The Right believes that if you throw enough mud, some will stick! They don't care about the American people or the country! They just want a black Democrat out of office!

Obama voted when he was in the Senate on John Mc Cain. That both parents had to be Americans. That military bases were to considered US property, thus making John Mc Cain eligle to run for president.
