Demi Lovato admitted that she was bullied for being fat. This is something else that so many kids deal with on a regular basis, and it's so sad that Demi was also a victim. The former Sonny With a Chance actress (she recently announced she was leaving the show) is speaking out about so many of her demons, in hopes of healing herself and being an inspiration to so many others.
"I literally didn't know why they were being so mean to me. And when I would ask them why, they would just say, 'Well, you're fat,'" she said in an interview with ABC News. Lovato goes on to talk about what effect those incidents had on her life. Like many bullied teens, Demi turned to cutting, developed an eating disorder, and became depressed.
It is so hard to understand what bullies can be capable of doing. This is very serious stuff and for some kids, it becomes much worse. There have been so many suicides due to bullying and it's just so sad. Hopefully Lovato keeps her head held high and continues talking about her experiences. She is definitely helping people just by saying, "I've been there."
