Let me ensure it is very clear that although I am pro-choice, I'm not really pro-abortion. Abortion is a horrendous, horrible treatment and I wouldn’t wish that choice on my very own worst adversary. Herpes, the clap, and an unfortunate case of bad breath, maybe, but not the decision on whether or not to terminate a pregnancy. For those that debate that abortion could be the effortless answer, I would disagree. Thank god I never had to make such a hard decision, even though I was practically raped.
It’s those choices that pro-life activists would definitely deny women all over the place.
The problem is not the free clinic. I disagree in what they are doing in principle, but in practice, they’re vital. WIthout them, many more women will be suffering from unneccesarry, avoidable deaths. There will be an uptick in females who die in childbirth since the legislation prevents physicians from preserving her life over that of her child’s. The foster care system can be much more bombarded than it is with all the unwanted young children resulting from these unplanned pregnancies. Prohibiting abortion has never been nor will ever be the solution.
