I join Gather in the May of 2007. I sign up because Channel 9 WMUR had a bloggers contest on writing about politics. My first try at a post was called Obama sneaking under the radar. I never publish it thinking it was a little far fetch.
So here are my predictions for the 2012 race.
Joe Biden will step down, leaving Obama to pick a new VP. ( He give it was for medical reasons.)
Sarah Palin will put her gun into the Presidential race after the NH primaries.
Donald Trump will host the biggest candidate debate in Atlantic City and will invite all the candidates, even the fringe ones. (He will not run, but he wants to play kingmaker.)
The Republican Party to rise in the polls in double digits. However when this starts to happen the party factions will start fighting among themselves.
The Republican Party will try to get Clint Eastwood to run.
Although the pressure on Obama will be great to pick a woman for his ticket. He will surprise everyone with choosing former Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico.
A democratic challenger will arise to contest Obama in the primaries. ( A lot of people will believe this is just a play to divert the attention from the Republicans candidates.)
A new party will form from the split in the Republican Party. It will consist of the Christian churches, right to lifers from the Catholic Church, working poor, and a very scared senior citizens who feel the Republicans are stealing their benefits, like SS and medicare.
Unfortunately there will be several armed attacks on the candidates political rallies. ( On both sides. Bullets have no parties.)
Bloggers will really come to the front line in reporting. A few new bloggers will become media stars.
This campaign season will spend more money then the last three Presidential combine.
The young ( voters under 25) will sit this election out.
I see President Obama winning the election by the Electoral college, and losing the popular vote. This will be due the third party who will draw off enough votes from the Republicans to give it to President Obama.
Hold on, for a wild ride.

Bloggers will really come to the front line in reporting. A few new bloggers will become media stars.
Great post, Chick. Featured!
The news reported 1 in 8 Detroit area families are on food stamps. Our country is too great to let such shame happen.
Chick J. I know I should stay out of this stuff, but I think much like you. Thanks!
What inspires your predictions? I hope #9 is wrong.
