Below is another email from my daughter. This is an updat from my previous post concerning an email she sent me that the company she worked for was experiencing delays in gas deliveries that the company never has experienced previously. Now, she is noticing empty spaces on the shelves at grocery stores. I work at a grocery stotes and our store has also been experiencing shortages on our shipments, as well.

Hi Mom,
"Well the gas companies are still holding out on the gas. They are delivering but they make us wait, so we do run out at the stores for short whiles so far."
" Last night I went to the grocery store and I was noticing the large missing spaces of food, both in produce and dry goods. I asked an employee if the store was always this empty at that time of day since I rarely go to the store then. He said no that the warehouses have been short on stuff. So yes I spent more than I wanted to."

Smart girl. She's been stocking up on food and other supplies, lately. She's also put in a rain catch system, and a garden in her backyard. She's also looking to team with others in her community to get more gardens going and learning more skills, etc...
I read an article recently in Mother Earth News entitled, "Garden Like Your Life Depended On It, Because It Will". I've been doing some gardening, but I think I need to step it up.

Am planting more onions, garlic, beans, corn, squash, as well as adding tomatoes, soon.
The world is passed peak oil. They can't get more out of the ground or from the sea no matter what they do, or how much money and technology they throw at the situation. This, combined with a number of disaster around the world is starteing to pinch the situation. I know there are a lot of excuses put out, a lot of distraction provided, but many are really trying to find a solution, but it's probably too late. Nothing can replace the once cheap energy, that fossel fuels provided, and all that it could do. I hope not, but I think it's going to become more obvious, and widespread sooner than later.
Some areas will be hit harder and faster than others, and I think the resource wars will escalate.
PS We're all experts on something! Sometimes we just have to figure it out still...

But food shortages, this is quarterly time and quite a few stores aren't signing contracts with merchandising companies so in regards those products aren't being put into stores, and this is something that the normal floor employee wouldn't know about it. Only reason I know is that i am one of those merchandisers whom go into the stores to put products out and I have lost 10 contracts.
Next planting season, these are dumped out, tilled and mixed in with your compost. The crops are rotated seasonally, and I plan to expand little by little using this method.
I'm following the plan, basically, from the Book, "Starter Vegetable Gardens" by Barbara Pleasant.
It's designed for very basic beginners, and those working alone, as in no help, which is me.
Just came in from the garden. Been out there since 7:00 a.m.. Still not finished.
Planted in the beds, Chives, Cilantro, lettuce, Rosemary, in bed #1
Planted Cornfolowers, oregano, cherry tomatoes, in Bed#2
Still more to do.
