What can Jersey Shore's Snooki have to say that is worth more than Toni Morrison? It is hard to imagine, but the reality TV star actually earns more money than the Nobel Prize-winning author.
Recently, Toni Morrison was booked at Rutgers University to deliver the school's commencement address in May. She will be paid $30,000 for her appearance on the graduating students' special day. Her words of wisdom will hopefully inspire them as they move on to the next phase of their lives. At the very least, she will be there to help them celebrate a very special day in their lives.
In light of this, it may be shocking for some to find out that Snooki recently appeared on the campus of Rutgers for a Q&A session. For her one hour of time, she was paid $32,000.
What a surprise! How could a reality TV star like Snooki command a higher speaking fee than Toni Morrison? Her appearance was attended by about 1,000 students. Her advice was to "study hard, but party harder." Hopefully they'll be safe if they follow her advice.
It really doesn't make much sense, but here it is. It seems unlikely that Toni Morrison will offer advice like Snooki's. What do you think she'll tell the graduates?
