Seven foreigners, including four Nepalese guards dead in a UN office in Afghanistan as payback.

I’m well aware that the so called Christians in that Florida church don’t give a damn about those seven dead people in that UN office in Afghanistan, however, I do.

The Afghan response was unwarranted ... but the 'preacher's' action was incendiary. This guy has been warned before. I will have to say, though, that if Karzai hadn't made a point of announcing this, it had been kept largely out of the media. Yet another reason to wonder whether he is still being helpful in the efforts to restore Afghanistan.

Jim, Let's not forget what misspoken words do. This 'preacher' has defamed Islam in word and deed. They burned one Quran. The imam at Friday prayers in the province where this happened in speaking against the action, suggested it was many Qurans. Things were inflamed on both sides. Does that make killing right? No. But name calling does not make things better on either side. There are muslims who decry this action as well -- let's not make it sound sound like all of 'them' are any more accountable for this action than this 'pastor' is all of 'us'.

Jim and jj -- I said this was wrong ... and on both sides. I also said that words on both sides led to the wrongs. Most importantly, I said that incendiary words fanned anger. Acting in anger is a foreseeable outcome of speaking in anger and those actions are sometimes fatal.

Let's not perpetuate hate speech. Calling people out for bad acts is one thing, but calling an entire people group names because of the actions of a few is not helpful.

These nuts are looking for a reason to KILL, they are like wild animals, once they get the taste for it, there is no changing their radical ideas...
I dont hear any outcry if they burn our Bibles, burn our flag or even burn Bush's picture as some of them have done in the past...
They want to silence freedom of speech and this preacher has a right to return their favor.. It is sad that those who did the killing think that by killing someone innocent that this is justified.. They are barbaric . Anyone with any common sense would know that you cant judge all christians because of one person...

They will look for any reason to kill, the more violent and gruesome the better. Any excuse to kill is good enough for them.

You are right. Look at what they say about the wars in Iraq and Afganistan...Gods war...opps my bad that is the Christians.

I think we should withdraw all of our soldiers, AND also withdraw any and all finacial support for starters, but obviously no one in government will go with that save a few.

I agree with you on that Dorothy, well up to a point, as Financial support for other countries is at times like these actually also a good thing for the financial needs of the USA also as there is a balance that needs to be maintained at times of stress, however, the USA doesn’t need to do that for any and all countries.
