Tonight, James Durbin killed on American Idol 2011, top 11, with his Elton John rendition. His performance, as Jennifer Lopez stated, came off more like he was on show than in a competition. In fact, this artist was so good he seemed like he had already made the big time.
Mounting the stage with gusto, this American Idol rising star took on Elton John's Saturday Night Is Alright. Durbin ended the tune by lounging atop a piano, singing loud, singing proud.
Yes, James Durbin was on fire for Elton John night, and the American Idol judges noticed. They were pretty excited about this exciting performer, as was the audience who seemed appreciative if the loud applause is any indication.
Meanwhile, since this week was not only devoted to Elton John but also to cast makeovers, James Durbin arrived with his hair sticking straight up toward the sky. After he performed, and after the judges praised this rockin' singer, the singer himself told Ryan Seacrest he was worried about all the hairspray he was wearing.
In fact, James Durbin worried that, perhaps, he would have to endure a Pepsi - Michael Jackson moment. Talk about being on fire.
So, with that being said, what do you think: Is James Durbin going to be going on AI after tomorrow night? Do you think he killed with his Elton John song? Do you think he is the one to beat on American Idol 2011? Thoughts? Thanks.
