Crochet Pattern - Easter Egg Amigurumi

Easter Egg Amigurumi

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn – Small amount color of choice (MC for body)
Small amount CB(for legs) and CC (for ears)
Scrap of black

Crochet hook size F
Polyfill
Googly eyes – 9mm
Embellishements (optional)
Glue gun
Yarn needle

Finished size: About 4 ½ inches tall standing (not counting ears)

Notes: Do not join rounds unless indicated. Mark the beginning of each round with a stitch marker or scrap of yarn. Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Body

Rnd 1: With MC yarn, ch 2, 6 dc in 2^nd ch from hook. (6 sc)

Rnd 2: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (9 sc)

Rnd 3: (Sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (12 sc)

Rnd 4: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 5: (Sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (16 sc)

Rnds 6 – 10: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 11: (Sc in each of next 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) (12 sc)

***Add stuffing at this point. ***

Rnd 12: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 13: (Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around, join with a sl st in next sc, leaving a length of yarn for sewing, fasten off.

Add more stuffing to body and sew opening closed.

Legs (Make 2)

Rnd 1: With MC yarn and starting at foot, ch 2, 8 sc in 2^nd ch from hook. (8 sc)

Rnds 2 – 3: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 4: (Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around.

***Stuff foot. ***

Rnd 5: Sc in each sc around, changing to CB yarn in last step of last sc made, break off MC yarn.

Rnds 6 – 8: Sc in each sc around, at the end of rnd 8, join with a sl st in next sc, leaving a length of yarn for sewing, fasten off.

Do not stuff leg section. Sew opening closed and sew legs to bottom of body.

Arms (Make 2)

Rnd 1: With MC yarn and starting at hand, ch 2, 6 sc in 2^nd ch from hook. (6 sc)

Rnd 2: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (4 sc)

Rnds 4 - 7: Sc in each sc around, at the end of rnd 7, join with a sl st in next sc, leaving a length of yarn for sewing, fasten off.

Do not stuff arm section. Sew opening closed and sew arms to sides of body to align with legs.

Ears (Make 2)

Row 1: With pink yarn, ch 3, sc in 2^nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, ch 1, turn. (2 sc)

Row 2: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Sc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (3 sc)

Row 4: Sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (4 sc)

Rows 5 – 6: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 7: (Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) across, ch 1, turn. (2 sc.

Row 8: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, fasten off.

Sew ears to top of head.

Glue eyes of rnds 6 – 7 of body. With a scrap  of black yarn, embroider mouth under eyes.

Add embellishments as desired.

Done!!!!
