I cook a meal for a ministry that our church serves in on sunday nights. Most of the people eating are kids so I try to keep the meal simple and as fun as I can. I made pizza pockets last nite for about 15. You can cut the recipe. One can of bread makes about 8 slices. One slice and some salad is enough for a child but some older ones and adults wanted more. You can also buy cheaper ham for a budget meal. I justl like the taste of Hilshire. Here's the recipe:
3 cans Pilsbury pizza dough
small jar pizza sauce or spagheti sauce
1 bag pepperoni
1 1/2 containers of Hilshire honey ham
2 8 oz bags mozzarella cheese
Butter spray (optional)
Roll out 1 can of dough on floured surface with floured hands. Spread light layer of sauce on all but about 1" of the dough. Spread Ham and pepperoni on sauce and cover with cheese. Start rolling up on end with sauce, etc. As you roll you can add a little more ham and pepperoni and cheese if you like. When you get to the end pinch to hold and then turn where pinched end is on the bottom. Spray with butter spray and score top. Cook at 350 degrees. Check at about 14 minutes till golden brown. Let rest about 5 minutes then slice into 1" slices (about 8 per loaf)
Repeat with 2 other loaves.
Have fun and keep smilin'!
