Reese Witherspoon was married yesterday to Hollywood agent Jim Toth in a private ceremony at her Ojai, California estate. While the wedding itself went down without a hitch, with a-list guests and family and friends all turning up for the nuptials, one can't help but wonder why the short engagement?
The couple, who started dating in January of last year, became engaged just three short months ago, after less than a year of dating. Witherspoon and Toth kept the wedding date hush hush, with speculation about the Saturday ceremony coming about only earlier this week when tents were being assembled, and it seems unlikely that anyone would have guessed the big day would be just three short months after the engagement.
So why the rush? Could it be that Reese Witherspoon just fell so head over heels in love with Toth that she couldn't bear to delay the big day with extensive planning? Could there be more to it than that? With her previous reluctance to tie the knot with ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal, it didn't seem before as though she was in a hurry to be a bride.
Why do you think the Witherspoon/Toth engagement was so brief?
