After over 20 years, Tom Hanks will be returning to television to guest star on NBC's popular hit comedy show, 30 Rock.
Hanks tweeted to a friend that he will be appearing on an upcoming episode of the show.
"RadioMan delivers msg from T.Fey. Result? I'm on 30 Rock! Thanks, RMan Hanx," Hanks wrote. ThereÂ’s no explanation why he cites "RadioMan," but maybe heÂ’s referring to a New York celebrity who wears a radio around his neck. This celebrity has made cameo appearances on shows including 30 Rock.
TV Guide reports that there are no details on what kind of part Tom Hanks will be playing, but we might see him putting on a dress again like he did on Bosom Buddies. Now that would be spectacular.
Appearing on 30 Rock will be the two-time Oscar winnerÂ’s return to television. The last time he was on the small screen was when he guest starred on Family Ties. Tom has also been on the cable program Band of Brothers and the very excellent From the Earth to the Moon. Hanks produced both of these shows.
NBC didnÂ’t respond when asked for a comment, but all of Tom HanksÂ’ fans will be waiting for 30 Rock to air with him in it.
