A few weeks ago (yeah, I'm behind on posting, as usual?) my mom and I went to see Riverdance for the 5th time, at the NJPAC in Englewood, NJ. Before the show, we wanted to get dinner nearby, and since they had a pre-show deal, we chose Rose's restaurant. It has a Mediterranean menu and is close to the theatre.
The place was pretty empty, and there seemed to be only one staff member doing the seating and waiting. (It was a Thursday night, for what it's worth!) That being said, though, we didn't wait long for anything, so no complaint on the service!
There was pita on the table, as well as a dish of pickles, olives, peppers and the like. We ordered our appetizers and dinners, and sat back.
My mom got a Greek salad to start with-- yum!

She enjoyed it. I had a little bit, too, and it was very good! I had ordered a Fried Zucchini in Lemon Garlic Sauce. It was absolutely fantastic!

I forgot to take photos of our dinners, as we were too busy eating them ;) But we thoroughly enjoyed that food, too. My mom had gotten a Shish Kabob platter, done with beef, and the seasoning was really delightful. I had gotten the Shawerma platter, a seasoned kind of beef, but done in small pieces-- it was really good on the pita with some of the sauce (yogurt sauce, I suppose?) and the onions that were on the side.
Dessert was good; a filo dough concoction with filling. Not quite sure how else to describe it, but it was enjoyed!
I took leftovers home, and my boyfriend tried some of what my mom had gotten. After taking a bite, he asked if the restaurant was nearby, because he wanted to go. Alas, it isn't!
The pricing of Rose's was reasonable, from what I recall, though I'll admit that my mom paid ;)
If, for some bizarre reason you find yourself in Englewood, NJ, with a hankering for Mediterranean food, definitely check out Rose's!
