Rumors are spreading around the tech world of a 3rd quarter iPhone 5 release date, and a lot of people are hoping for a 4G iPhone. Considering the recent release of the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network, the expectation of a 4G Apple iPhone doesn't seem like too much to ask, right?
Well don't get your hopes up, because according to an article at Gotta Be Mobile, the chances of the Apple iPhone 5 release being 4G is slim. It does not appear the iPhone will be 4G compatible in 2011 at all. This is a bummer for fans who want the fastest network available, but it seems unlikely that lacking 4G will deter fans from purchasing the iPhone 5. After all, consumers line up at Apple stores as soon as the device is released.
Considering many people use their iPhone for web browsing, it may not be the best idea to have the new iPhone 5 release in 4G, because thus far the battery tests for web browsing on the 4G Android device HTC Thunderbolt show that particular Smartphone drains of batter life in about 4 hours. Of course, this is going off web browsing only, and not talk time, but again, most iPhone customers use their device for significant data usage.
What are your thoughts on the latest iPhone 5 release rumors? Do you think its possible for Apple to release a quality 4G iPhone device, without the battery issues?
