Welcome Returning Sistahs!
The Mother Moon is big and beautiful and close to the earth now. It is now the season of Spring - Now is a time for cleansing and new beginnings. Here in Shedding Light, we move with the seasons.  The group is in a transitional period for a few more days. The invitation to join continues until the end of the week.Â
The steps this season will be called Moments. The first one will be called: Moon Moments - Spring 2011 (you may add other words)
The moon has three phases-the waxing moon, which is associated with the young woman, or maiden phase; the full moon, the mother or mature phase; and the waning moon, which is the older woman or crone. (I prefer Wise Woman). Please read both of these links:

Compare yourself to the phase of the moon that fits you and write a poem or paragraph, haiku or a combination along with photographs, drawings to tell us a bit about yourself. You have two weeks from today - due on or before Monday, April 4th.

You are really looking great, Marianna!!!!
The crones will win!
My dad was a chiropractor in the 50's and 60's- you're preaching to the choir on that one - yes, he did fight for legislation - thank goodness for the pioneers...Thanks Dorine, Salud
You could not possibly be considered on the wane, my dear. The spirit which comes through this picture to me is that you are definitely still waxing. :)
I was reminded of a visit to the Ephesus Museum in Turkey. There are quite a few artifacts there from a former civilization who worshipped the Goddess Artemis Diana and there are many statues of her in the museum, one of the most famous being this one. It is a very tall statue (over 2 me3ters) and quite strikingly lit. The Temple is thought to have been first built in this area in approx BC 3,000-2,000. Callimachus, a Greek poet living in the second century BC wrote a Hymn to Artemis, where he attributed the first temple to the Amazons (another strong group of women who got a bad rep throughout history).
It is a pity that ancient cultures understood and reverred the goddess concept. Once the notion of a one-diety, masculine god took over, much was lost, IMO.
It is a pity - but we must be the change we want to see in the world - no matter how little we do as long as it's positive - we're moving in a good direction and are all part of history. Salud
Dr. Christiane Northrup is one of my favorite people - this is her site link. Salud

I want to be a part of the new season of shedding light

Anywho....... I loved that second link, it is so right on. My mother taught me to just say no hormone replacement. No way am I going to be sedated thru my final stage of life. I turn 60 in October, and I am not one bit depressed about it either. Why should I be? And I actually believe there should be four stages instead of three. No way am I a Crone yet, but I am somewhere between ----- and empty nest should have a stage all to itself, in my opinion :)
I do think it is astounding that there are so many of us coming out of the Boomer generation. Look out world, the Goddess is on the rise. We will change the face of menopause.
I haven't worn a skirt in years - I'm very very happy to have lost 12 pounds - believe me, I can't tell you how light it feels not to carry that burden - not just weight but other things and I want ten more pounds off - I feel lighter!!! There is room for more inside of me than weight now!
You look taller than I am and we all have to look at our bodies carefully - you may have inherited big bones and weight shouldn't be judged by the number in many cases...however, I know myself and my body after much study and have worked on it for a long time - still needs work but one thing - I'm on a good road and appreciate yall coming along helping light the path. Salud
I use to wear those gypsy looking sun dresses all summer, ten years ago, so seeing you decked out in this skirt just makes me want it even more now.
ok gotta go for my afternoon walk - later yall. Salud
Marianna, I would to play dress up with you. I have gotten bogged down in sweatshirts and sweatpants, and today I feel disgusted and told hubby I want my sundresses back. I think I stunned him, he didn't know what to say, LOL. I went shopping and got lost in the excitement today. This is so totally me:
Lots of gypsy dresses for Rosa
I asked my daughter to see if she could find an old photo of me in my favorite gypsy sundress. I will post if she finds one suitable.
I will be coming back to read your link and think about what to write...I look forward to finding old Gather friends again...my grief is still here, but it does not weigh my heart as heavily these days...just sits on my shoulders at times and taps to remind me. I think this group is exactly what I need...thanks again :)
Oh, sistah, I am excited about this season. I have lost SOOO much baggage and weight, I was dancing in jeans today ;) I might have a pic to post, but I have to figure out that scanner thing-y. We have similar taste in clothes, just love your outfit!! I even have a pink flamingo in my garden...from my grandma and I remember when it graced her gardens. I am still smiling from your post and pic, thank you sistah!!
And thank God for the crones who believe in natural health...or my husband and I might not be here. You, Sistah, are a Wise Woman and dear friend. Salud.
