Vera Wang is without a doubt one of the most sought after wedding gown designers, having outfitted celebrity brides such as Jessica Simpson and Ivanka Trump, but now her wedding dresses will be available to a new market: the everyday bride.
Wang has announced that she'll be collaborating with bridal powerhouse, David's Bridal, debuting a line called "White by Vera Wang" just in time for the summer's wedding season.
The collection, which will range from the (nearly laughable) $600 to $1400, will be "every bit designer and gorgeous as her originals." There will also be an accessory line as part of the collection, with "an enviable selection of accessories including crystallized headbands, whimsical sash belts and glittering hair combs in the mix."
Surely there are brides the world over celebrating the news that a Vera Wang gown may now be in their future, but it seems likely that those who were previously married in the designer couture are gritting their teeth, wondering what happened to the days when their gowns were an exclusive status symbol.
What say you?
