Kate Middleton's see-through dress sold for a whooping $126,000 at auction. An anonymous buyer purchased the iconic dress Kate wore in 2002 while at the university with Prince William. There were about three or four serious bidders, but only one lucky winner.
Some people believe the outrageous dress is what caught Prince William's heart and won her a soon-to-be title of queen. According to Fox, "Some reports maintain that the sight of Middleton in the transparent dress as she walked down the catwalk at a charity fashion show helped convince William that she was someone he wanted to get to know better."
It was after she wore the dress that Kate Middleton and the Prince started dating if anyone ever wondered how she caught a prince. The auction took place in London on Thursday. The dress is now part of history. The garment sold for $104,948 and $20,989 of buyer's premium.
Kate Middleton will marry the Prince on April 29, 2011, and she will soon receive her reward for wearing the dress. She will be Princess Catherine.
