I honestly get a kick out of messing with my family. Most of them live in Pennsylvania and, about this time of year, I call them just to chat. They know what’s coming. At some point in the conversation, I always ask about their weather. It’s always cold; it’s usually snowing or has just finished snowing; and they haven’t seen the sun for weeks.
Then, I have fun saying that I’m on the back porch, drinking a cold beer to cool off, and firing up the BBQ to burn a steak.
Yes, they know what’s coming and they always chuckle; although I think it’s through their teeth. Here’s a picture I took just a few minutes ago.
Oh, wait, that was one I took back in January. Or was it December? Doesn’t matter, the only difference is the angle of the sun because my back yard looks like this all through winter and spring (except when it’s raining).
Here’s the one I took a few minutes ago. Notice that the green stuff has filled in somewhat and that tells me that my lawnmower and I will have many “happy” hours out there this coming summer.
