I see that Mike Huckabee is espousing Christian religious hatred again

The ONLY sin that Jesus talks about in all four gospels, is defining divorce and remarriage as Adultery.
But boy we sure got over that one fast! A whole Church in England established to grant divorce, and even divorced and remarried preachers in the pulpit these days.
(Railing about unwed mothers, gays, and abortion... none of which Jesus mentioned.)

I believe there is a do unto others clause in there. I suppose those babies wouldnt want to be cut to pieces while being birthed.

Where did you get that idea son? Read through the gospels and notice what all He says.

But I think its only the Catholics nowadays that follow that. NMeanwhile he NEVER railed against homosexuality or abortion. (And there are passages about soldiers slaying the newborn and the unborn in several of the books.)

I suspect Huck knows Natalie has nothing to do with it but it gets press.

I thought Christians were to first cast the beam out of their eye before commenting on the mote in someone else's eye. I thought Christians were to judge not lest they be judged. I thought that he who was without sin was to be the one to cast the first stone.

I guess I just don't understand Christianity at all. :-(

Another one of these accusatory stories with no links, no quotes in context, but four sentences from someone who obviously just doesn't like Mike Huckabee. That's the typical Gather post that attracts the brainless.

I have no idea what this is about, but then I suppose it's best that way. Why we would we want the real story? We wouldn't be able to slam him quite as freely. I'll have to get the truth of the story somewhere else where I can actually read a transcipt of what he actually said or hear an audio. If you people weren't so pathetic, these comments would be considered libel, but I'm sure they would be excused on grounds of mental incompetence.

Oh, okay, I found what he said and what his point was now. He merely used Natalie Portman's out of wedlock marriage to show that a highly publicized pregnancy of someone who does have the means of support to raise a child is a poor example for the many indigent women who do not have that same means of support. Yeah, it's a really bad thing to advise women that having a child you can't support is less than fair to the child. I see what you mean now. People should never make any statements about what they think is unfair to children unless it involves or is an endorsement of what the government thinks is right or wrong for them to do. I completely understand the perspective of the ninny, nanny crowd. Sorry to have intruded.

I don't think he's the candidate either, and I agree that what you say is the crux of the problem too, They just yammer about anything at all, as if it's going to change anyone's mind. They're certainly not voting for him, and the ones who do endorse him aren't changing their minds over such gossip and twisting of truth, but they might even have more resolve than ever to support him when they see things like this.

My comments were about the statistical reality that most single moms are very poor, under-educated, can’t get a job, and if it weren’t for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death. That’s the story that we’re not seeing, and it’s unfortunate that society often glorifies and glamorizes the idea of having children out of wedlock.”
********ok. unfortunately this still falls short of explaining what he said.
You see, Ms Portman was there to receive an Oscar for her acting, NOT to be "glorified and glamorized" for having an out of wedlock child.
But Mike the mouth saw all those camera's and microphones and couldn't let a chance to create a big buzz go by. IMHO.
(OK I said IMHO, so in Huckabee-land you can't tackle me now.)

Is that what his subject was Richard? Whether or not she was being a proper Christian? Are you saying his purpose was to point that out to everyone?
James was nice enough to get the statement itself so we could all see what he said.
Actually, he was talking about the problem of giving teen agers or young women the idea that they could also make it out there with a baby and no training.

Richard I'm a retired welfare worker of 27 years. You can't believe how easily some of these discouraged young women with no hope for extra money and no spouse to help them and very little money are tempted into drugs or promiscuity out of their loneliness.

Be glad for every person that is concerned about them. I'm glad he's worried about them. Their number is increasing and truthfully, I don't know what to do to help them. To stop the younger ones coming up.

It isn't only Christians that worry about them. Talk to teachers and principals and social workers and maybe, your next door neighbor.
