The suspected "East Coast Rapist" has been arrested. Since1997, Arron Thomas has raped 17 women along the East Coast. Thomas eluded police until Friday when they arrested him in his New Haven, Connecticut home.
US Marshals cornered Thomas in his home after a tip set them off. DNA has confirmed that Thomas is indeed the "East Coast Rapist." He is being held on $1 million bond.
Talk about breathing easy again. There's little doubt Aaron Thomas is a dangerous man. With at least 17 violent attacks on women in 14 years, it's likely Thomas planned to keep his "East Coast Rapist" title as long as he could. His DNA was linked to attacks in Virginia, Maryland, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
Frighteningly, Thomas didn't seem to care if his victims were alone. The latest attack linked took place with two teenage girls headed home after a night of trick-or-treating. A New Haven news conference is scheduled today to discuss more of the arrest.
