Kirstie Alley, 60, can’t keep the weight off, but she has a new plan: “Dancing With The Stars”. The actress has battled excess pounds for years, and she has turned down “DWTS” before, but this time she wants to bring it all together with a stint on the show, right when she is 60 pounds down (from 230) and on a dieting roll. Why now? That last, pesky 30 to 40 pounds she wants to lose, reports MailOnline.
The weeks of rehearsals, the strenuous samba/ quick step/whatever routines, the success of previous contestants such as Marie Osmond and Kelly Osbourne all give the kind of exercise program, plus inspiration Kirstie hopes will deliver her over the top of her weight loss goals. This might be just the plan she has needed.
Who wants to wear scanty, sexy costumes, even at 60, that donÂ’t favor the frame? Who wants to look, well, fat? Nobody, thatÂ’s who. Certainly not Kirstie Alley.
ThereÂ’s always an overweight contestant. Okay, they never win, but they always improve; theyÂ’re always a fan favorite, and they always lose weight. Reasons enough, not to mention the reported $200,000 stipend.
Reports Comcast, Kirstie plans to hit the dance floor hard. Partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy will make sure that she does. First rehearsals almost sent her home in tears, but like all exercise plans, it has slowly gotten better. Only a month and 10 show weeks to go.
