Some ladies will do anything for a good cause.

I usually put the TV on while I work on the computer. It gives me some background noise that I like. Every once in a while I get so engrossed in the movie that I forget about what I am doing on the computer. This happened this morning while watching a movie that I have seen several times.

I love this movie. Every time I watch this movie, I feel much better about growing older. The movie of which I am speaking about is "Calendar Girls." If you have never seen this movie than you need to rent it or find it on the tube. It is funny, beautiful and makes you realize that you do not have to be young to be sexy.

The story line is simple.  

Calendar Girls is about the women of the Women's Institute in North Yorkshire, England. Every year the Women's Institute creates a calendar as a fund raiser. One year, one of the ladies husbands became ill with leukemia. He would say that if the ladies planted Sunflowers, he'd make sure he'd get better so he could see them. Unfortunately, he didn't pull through and in order to raise money to buy a sofa for the leukemia wing at the hospital, in memory of the husband, this group of middle-aged women decided to make an alternative calendar of themselves in the nude hoping to sell a few hundred copies around their villages. This calendar in fact became a worldwide sensation, selling hundreds of thousands, making the woman famous and thus affecting their lives.

Based on a true story, I found this movie wonderfully erotic and not the least bit pornographic.

I highly recommend this movie for a wonderful evening (or morning) of film viewing!
