Dustin should have turned 25 today. But he remains 16 forever in my heart.
I choose to hold tight to the good memories.
And I will smile each time I see a butterfly, a bluebird, or feel a breeze on my face.
I know he is close.
Hold your loved ones tight and tell them you love them every chance you get.
You never know when it may be the last time.
Happy Birthday Dustin.
I Love You,
Mom

Good to see you.
I kept the post kind of short this year.
Thanks very much for visiting!
The best I can do is hold on to the memories.
Life throws us curve balls doesn't it? So unfair to refer to our children with a forever age, almost like they are stuck in time. But, it is what it is and we must continue putting one foot in front of the other.
This post is spotlighted in the Thursday edition of Today on Gather.

I have 16 years of memories nobody can take away.
Oh the autumn time is coming
And the trees are surely turning
And the light in my heart
Where you live is brightly burning
Will you go lassie, go
And we'll all go together
Where the boundaries of time
Shall be broken down forever
Will you go lassies, go
You drew lately to this world
And you danced across so lightly
In this life you were a jewel
And you shone you light so brightly
Now it's time for us to part
Yet I can see your face so clearly
And your spirit in my heart
Has planted there so dearly
You passed quickly through this world
And you danced across so lightly
Now your life shines like a star
And you shine you light so brightly
This song was written by Jed Marum for a young friend's funeral using the old Wild Mountain Thyme melody and imagery. (From the CD "Soul of a Wanderer).
