I've heard several references lately to the Pennsylvania Dutch. On the radio this week, there was an interesting quote. I was trying to find it and did a little research. While I didn't find the one I wanted, I thought these were worth sharing. This is one culture I haven't met.
We get too soon old and too late smart.
Kissing wears out, cooking don't.
Short hair is quickly brushed.
An industrious wife is the best savings account.
A big wife and a big barn never did any man harm.
Eat yourself full.
Throw the cow over the fence some hay.
