I write this poem for you
although you may not read it
because fire consumes me
The ice in your soul
will never melt
and forces our separation
I feel the release
of gossamer threads
that once connected us
Please hush, I don't care to know
your reasons for leaving
Words cannot bend to understand
I sit and cry as I watch you depart
Even my parchment drips tears
I know you well enough
I fold my poem,
place it under a stone,
save it for later to destroy
Passion dances in my eyes
I am insignificant in your life
I am irreplaceable
you will know
after my words
become ashes

I loved these lines:
I fold my poem,
place it under a stone,
save it for later to destroy
The Surreal Circus.
If this were autobiographical I would suggest another use for the stone.
ly
I am irreplaceable"
Great transition.
I love No Doubt! Especially this song, "Don't Speak."

I would not destroy this poem, Jen, it's truth is too valuable to keep...sometimes we need to remember the cold facts about someone, growing in understanding of ourselves.
