why do people go so crazy over a phone that will be outdated in 3 months anyway?

You are so right Ryan! I hate it when I go buy a new phone, and a few weeks later something WAY better comes out, but it will be "old news" a few weeks later as well.

lol, so true. dont get me wrong, i love smartphones...i just got my first one last week. a DroidX, and i flipping love it, but i waited for the price to be right and my contract to run out. i have never been one to wait in line for a new thing at full price. i will wait in line for a great deal though (black friday)

Me too! I love going to Target on Black Friday! Its the best! I have to drag my family out of bed with promises of Starbucks and saving money, but it is SO worth it! :) OK, any excuse for me to go to Starbucks is worth it!

I have an android phone, I used to work for T-Mobile, and I had the G1, MyTouch, and the Motorola Cliq pre-ordered as soon as they were released to employees.

i used to work for target lol, never had to work that day thankfully! i got a TV at walmart last year, it is now my computer monitor...all 32 inches of it! muhahaha

Ryan, why would you ask such a ridiculous question??? You deliberately posted your comments to start a controversy....otherwise you would have said nothing. You should get a job at Verizon Wireless...and say nothing...

He was speaking to me Jamie, not you. While your opinions are appreciated, there is no need to attack someone who is not even speaking to you. Furthermore, he was making reference to other posts on this site which are often viewed as controversial, and pointing out that this particular article is the one that caused upset. I don't blame you for being frustrated about the wait on a particular device, or having frustrations at a company if they are providing a poor customer experience. I would appreciate if you would keep those vents where they are due ;)

It's the bloggers that are causing all the firestorm with the release date of the Thunderbolt. The only OFFICIAL information regarding the release date was at the CES show where they targeted a Q1 release. PERIOD! All the other anticipated release dates were rumors and leaks from unofficial sources. There is no delay on the release. Q1 doesn't end until the end of March. Until that passes, stop using the term "delay" so loosely. Before the 2/14 release rumor, consumers were perfectly fine waiting until the end of March. Now that these rumored dates have gone and passed, everyone is assuming that there is something wrong with the device or the LTE network. Get a grip people!

Art...it is NOT the bloggers who are causing all the "firestorm" regarding the release date of the Thunderbolt. It is actually Verizon Wireless itself...they gave a third-party contract to Best Buy who has actually been taking preorders and giving their customers incorrect information about the release and Verizon Wireless is keeping their mouth shut and not denying this thereby allowing this "firestorm" to happen. They are allowing a third party to take preorders when they are NOT doing it themselves leaving their loyal, long term customers to feel tricked that Best Buy customers (considered new customers) are getting a phone reserved for them BEFORE their own customers who have kept the green pipeline going for ten/twenty yrs to Verizon Wireless. Yes, Verizon is a huge company and yes they are feeding into the very pockets of their stockholders and upper level management by using this so-called delay as a marketing ploy. Verizon put up a website to tease the public asking them to enter their email address for further information...I don't know about any one else but I have heard NOTHING. WHY?? This is just an advertising ploy directed by Verizon Wireless at their customer's expense that just may blow up in their face...and probably will. They are on a slippery slope with this kind of customer tease and they are annoying their own customers and audience for which they serve. What's next?? A bunch of PO'd customers taking their business somewhere else because of a marketing ploy that uses their own and Best Buy customers as their audience. No phone should be worth this to anyone...I'm no psychic but if VWireless doesn't open their mouth very, very soon and be honest with the very people who support their salaries....people will bolt and then stick VWireless with contracts or just pay to get out of them for sake of their own well-being. Shame on VWireless for stooping this low....to trick the very own people who support their salaries and in turn make them feel that they are NOT valued customers....at the customers very own expense. The heck with the Thunderbolt folks....your not getting anything more because the VWireless network is NOT 4G and they are demonstrating to you right now exactly how long it will take before your area is.....a very long time if at all!!

And, Art...you should get yourself a newspaper and look at the Best Buy advertisement for pre-orders at $249 (and yes, that does include the $50 rebate that they would get if people got their Thunderbolt from Verizon Wireless). And, I just got off the phone with Best Buy to confirm that. Verizon Wireless has the price set because all people who pre-order get the Thunderbolt at $249...also validated by Best Buy. Verizon Wireless better get off their high horse and treat their very own customers (or people in general) like they matter or Verizon Wireless is gonna lose out on this really, really stupid marketing ploy!! Maybe you should get a grip!!
