Actually you "put your finger" on something I've been thinking about, with regards to these shorties. The reason you don't get this and probably some of my others is that they are part of series, that makes up an outline for a larger story. This isn't usual for this challenge and most people who have read my stuff (as of late) are in the same boat as you. I've also been feeling a little constrained by staying true to the larger storyline, so when I get the chance I'll try and do a traditional shortie. Your not dumb Barb, you just came in the middle of the story. If you want to get the whole picture you'd have to read from week 39 and keep track of what is going on.
