Eva Longoria has been named grand marshal of the Texas Cavaliers River Parade during San AntonioÂ’s Fiesta.
The Desperate Housewives actress is very excited to take part in the parade, as it holds a deeper meaning to her and her charity, Eva's Heroes. In a recent interview, Longoria says that she "applauds them for taking the tradition and combining it with a philanthropic effort like childrenÂ’s charities" (via Access Hollywood).
It is really fun when a celebrity gets to participate in events like the Texas Cavaliers River Parade because it's something different and often times it is for a good cause. Obviously Longoria has had a tough go the past several weeks with her divorce and what not, but it's good that she keeps plugging forward. Surely she will make a great grand marshal and people will be happy to see her!
"About 17,000 tickets are available for $10 to $25, but most spectators will watch the river floats for free from hotels, restaurants and other public areas along the river," Access Hollywood reports.
