The Good, the Bad and the Bloggy

What have I been up to lately? Going out of my mind, because my Mishawaka Borders store is one of the 200 hit by the bankruptcy closings. I'll still have a Barnes and Noble, and the campus bookstore at Notre Dame is similar to one of the large chain bookstores, but I always liked Borders the best. For one thing, their card membership is free and gives good coupons. For another, Gather gives Borders gift cards. Thirdly, I love the green tea latte from the Seattle's Best counter!

Is anyone else depressed about a Borders location closing?

The Borders closest to me is also closing. I hate this because I love Borders. Now I have to drive all the way into Fort Worth to visit a Borders. Bummer, it seems that people are not buying as many books from book stores anymore. Everything seems be happening on line now. I like books.

Our Borders is closing and we just lost our Barnes & Noble on New Year's Eve! On a more positive note (for my neighborhood) we are welcoming Storyopolis, a bookstore for children. It won't replace the bookstores we are losing, but at least we won't have to take the kids to the museum to see a book!

I prefer Barnes and Noble, because I can go shop online if I want. And, most of the other websites I visit, such as www.mypoints.com; gives B&N coupons.

I'm not really.. I like smaller book stores myself. And ordering online is always cheaper in the long run as well.

We still have the Borders in my neighborhood, but if it ever closed I would be so depressed. They have fabulous coffee, and it is just a great place to go chill out, see what's new and decompress.

Congrats! We still have our Borders here. I just wish they would sell out of town newspapers (Sunday) so I don't have to read the Fishwrapper we have here.
