I know that these exist in children's literature, but I can't remember the context or even the books. Somehow Anne of Green Gables comes to mind, as does a book by Joan Blos. I seem to remember friends leaving notes for each other in trees, as though they were secret mailboxes.
I'm also interested in stories about your personal connection to special trees in your life. Maybe it was a tree you used to climb to get away from everyone. Or a favorite fruit tree you remember. Maybe it's a tree in your yard right now that you would miss very much if you didn't have it anymore, or that you would almost grieve over if it died.
If you have already written this on Gather, or even somewhere else, please send me the link. I'm writing a Squidoo lens and I'm trying to get ideas and articles to link back to if it turns out to be something I can use as an example. I've already found a couple on Gather, but need to start my day now. The article will have something to do with people's connections with trees in their lives and trees themselves as connection places. Related links would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Barb
